Byster starts from its own launcher before the game: in a command prompt window it waits for Mistfall Hunter and attaches by itself. Preparation is done once: remove antivirus software and turn off Windows protection and overlays.

Preparation

Remove third-party antivirus and anti-cheats Kaspersky, Avast, ESET and the like, plus FaceIT and Riot Vanguard, conflict with the loader. They must be uninstalled, not just paused.
  1. Open Settings → Apps → Installed apps (or Control Panel → Programs and Features).
  2. Uninstall any third-party antivirus (Kaspersky, Avast, AVG, ESET, 360, Malwarebytes, etc.). Pausing or disabling is not enough — the antivirus driver stays resident.
  3. Uninstall the FaceIT AC and Riot Vanguard anti-cheats if present — they block third-party software at the kernel level.
    • FaceIT is the CS2 anti-cheat, Vanguard is the Valorant one. If you don't play those games, they are safe to remove.
After removing an antivirus, restart the PC — some of its services only unload after a reboot.

Fully disable Windows Defender The #1 cause of “it won't launch”. Disable it for real: manually first, then remove it from startup, reboot, and finish it off with Defender Control.
  1. Step 1. Turn protection off by hand. Open Windows Security → Virus & threat protection → Manage settings and switch every toggle off:
    • Real-time protection — Off.
    • Cloud-delivered protection — Off.
    • Automatic sample submission — Off.
    • Tamper Protection — Off. Turn this one off first, otherwise the others switch themselves back on.
  2. Step 2. Disable reputation-based protection. In Windows Security → App & browser control → Reputation-based protection → Settings, turn everything off (SmartScreen, potentially-unwanted-app blocking).
  3. Step 3. Remove Defender from startup. Open Task Manager (Ctrl+Shift+Esc) → Startup apps tab, find Windows Security notification icon and click Disable.
  4. Step 4. Restart your computer. This is mandatory — some Defender services only unload after a reboot.
  5. Step 5. Finish with Defender Control. Download Defender Control (archive password: r1xon), run it as administrator and click Disable Windows Defender — the tile turns red.
    • If your antivirus deletes the utility itself, protection is still active — go back to step 1. The file ships zipped on purpose so Defender can't wipe it before it's disabled.
Don't skip steps 3–4. “I turned the toggles off but it didn't help” almost always means Defender came back after restart because it was left in startup.

Disable Core Isolation Memory Integrity blocks the driver from loading. Takes a minute to switch off.
  1. Open Windows Security → Device security → Core isolation details.
  2. Turn off Memory Integrity and restart the PC.

Update Visual C++ and DirectX Up-to-date runtimes keep the loader and overlay from crashing at start.
  1. Install Visual C++ Redistributable x64 and restart the PC.
  2. Update DirectX if you haven't in a while.
  1. Update the graphics driver from the NVIDIA or AMD website.
  2. Install the .NET 8 Desktop Runtime and .NET Framework 4.8.1, and install Visual C++ in both variants, x64 and x86. Then restart the PC.
  3. Turn off the firewall for the active network: Windows Security → Firewall & network protection, the network marked Active, the Microsoft Defender Firewall toggle.
  4. Turn off SmartScreen: Windows Security → App & browser control → Reputation-based protection settings.
  5. Turn off Xbox Game Bar and Game Mode in Settings → Gaming, plus the NVIDIA App, Discord, Overwolf and Steam overlays.
  6. Close MSI Afterburner, RivaTuner and other monitoring and overclocking tools, including their tray icons.

Launch

  1. Download the launcher with the Download Loader button and run it as administrator.
  2. Sign up in the launcher and activate your key.
  3. Select Mistfall Hunter and press Load.
  4. A command prompt window opens — wait for the Waiting game line.
  5. Start the game and wait for the main menu. The cheat menu opens with Insert.

Something doesn't work — where to start
The launcher has a built-in checker: on start it scans your PC and tells you what's in the way. Look at its messages first and fix what it points to — most of the time that's where the problem is.
The software won't download
Select the Global server in the launcher and try again.
The launcher won't start
  1. Open the launcher folder and find the Setting.json file next to it.
  2. Open it with Notepad.
  3. Set the Network line to 1 and save the file.
  4. Start the launcher again.
The command prompt window stops at «Waiting game»
This is not an error: the loader is waiting for the game. Start it and wait for the main menu. If the game was already open when you pressed Load, close it together with the game launcher, press Load again and only then start the game.
The program reports a conflict
Most often a third-party antivirus, another anti-cheat (Riot Vanguard, FACEIT, ESEA) or a monitoring tool is in the way. Remove them, close MSI Afterburner and RivaTuner including their tray icons, turn off Game Bar and overlays. If the conflict remains, send support your Windows version from winver, the exact error text and a screenshot of the Task Manager Processes tab. Do not change other system settings at random.
Windows protection turned itself back on
Windows restores protection after a restart or an update. Check the settings right before launching: real-time protection, the active network's firewall and SmartScreen, and press Disable in Defender Control again.
Defender Control (DControl) does not start
Download the file only from Byster's server: DControl. Run it as administrator. If the file disappears or will not open, a third-party antivirus is blocking it — uninstall the antivirus and download DControl again.
The setting is missing in Windows Settings
Windows 10 and Windows 11 use different paths. Check your version: Win + R, winver, Enter — and follow the path for it. You can also find the section with the Start menu search.

Advanced setup — only if it still won’t launch

Use a VPN for download and activation CIS ISPs often block the activation servers. A VPN is needed while downloading the loader, activating the key and injecting — you can turn it off before joining a match.
  1. Use a full VPN — an app that routes all traffic, not a browser proxy or extension: half the support tickets come from exactly this. In Happ and similar clients turn on TUN mode.
  2. Turn the VPN on before downloading the loader and activating the key. If something won't load, switch country (Europe or the US usually work).
  3. After a successful inject you can turn the VPN off before the match to avoid extra ping.

Sync Windows time A wrong system clock breaks key authorization against the license server.
  1. Open Settings → Time & language → Date & time, enable Set time automatically and click Sync now.

Which key opens the menu?
Insert. The menu appears once the cheat attaches to Mistfall Hunter and the game reaches its main menu.
Do I have to set up the aim for every class?
Each of the six classes — Mercenary, Sorcerer, Blackarrow, Shadowstrix, Seer and Withered Knight — has its own aim profile, and the cheat detects your hero by itself. Set up the profiles of the classes you play once.
How do I clear the screen in a fight?
Turn on battle mode with your own key: it hides items, treasure and dead characters while players and mobs stay.
